- My visual piece “Sunrise01” was included in Quibble Lit’s inaugural print issue.
- Blank Spaces Magazine published a reprint of my short story “Glycerine” in March.
- My short fiction “How to Make a Pet Rock” is published with The Bookends Review.
- My visual essay “Beautiful Botanicals” is now available in the June 2024 issue of Blank Spaces Magazine. It features some of my pen & ink daisies.

- Quibble Lit’s second print issue, Vessel, will include my visual piece “Rebirth.” Glad to have this piece back in circulation and in print!
- My visual piece “In Hand” is forthcoming in issue 23 of After Happy Hour. This is a digital collage that I made from my own original wildlife photos.
- I’m working on my novel manuscript this season along with re-tooling several shorter works that had been sitting in draft form for far too long.
What I’m Reading: Summer 2024
- Have you read Professor Laura Bates’ Shakespeare Saved My Life? It’s categorized as memoir. It is not your typical, “these things happened in my life,” style of memoir. This is the close reading of Shakespeare’s writing that you didn’t know you needed. The writing is succinct, yet the scenes are written with the kind of detail that makes this a page-turner. At the same time, each chapter is organized as a small section, so the reader can take breaks. Take those breaks. This book has gravity. Let it sink in. All. The. Things.
- I’ve been binge-reading Sarah McCoy’s books starting with Marilla of Green Gables. Remember L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables? This book is a prequel that centers around Marilla’s coming of age. Each chapter contains rich historical and geographical details folded into a gentle and tender story.
- Did you know Zorro came from a book? I’m reading Johnston McCulley’s The Curse of Capistrano (later re-named to The Mark of Zorro). There’s romance, adventure, and a bit of history all packed into one novella. A fun read.
