Pauline Shen is an emerging artist in London, Ontario. Her work aims to showcase beauty and courage rooted in unexpected and challenging places. She is a writer, photographer, and mixed media artist. Her writing explores topics such as grief, trauma, and fragmented relationships.
Her work is published with Amethyst Review, Blank Spaces, CommuterLit, Dreamers Creative Writing, Occasus Literary Journal, Wordsfest’s Zine, and The Signpost [Dorchester]. Her collection of visual art “Illumination” is published online with Lighthouse Weekly. Her new collection “Burst into Life” is published in print with Blank Spaces magazine. Pauline completed her B.A. in psychology and B.Ed in intermediate-senior mathematics and English at The University of Western Ontario.
Pauline holds the position of copy editor with Fauxmoir magazine and is part of the submission evaluation team at Ariel Publishing, LLC. She also volunteers as a contest judge and proof reader with Blank Spaces magazine.
I draw on my combined personal history and examples from a wide variety of classic and contemporary works. With every piece I create, I am truly in love with all aspects of the story, its characters, and their heart’s journey.
